The third & fourth installments mainly revolve around Elise Rainier & her encounters with supernatural elements. The movie starts off in the year 1953. Elise Rainier (Ava Kolker) is a young girl, who stays with her brother & parents. Watch online on 365 movie now. She has this innate gift/curse of seeing ghosts & speaking to them. While her mother understands her situation & is compassionate towards her, her father is completely annoyed with this weird ability. A childhood incident leads to disastrous results.

Elise Rainier leaves her home & starts life afresh away from her family. She then grows up to be an accomplished ghost buster. Several years later, she gets a call from the new occupant of her house. The new occupant has been facing the wrath of the supernatural forces lurking in his house. He hopes that Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) will help him out. Psychic Elise is joined by her two sidekicks (watch the movie to get the joke) – Tucker (Angus Sampson) & Specs (Leigh Whannell). These two are the comic relief in the movie. What follows is a series of spooky incidents, which will keep you at the edge of your seats. The movie does have its share of emotional scenes. Family reunions post several years, strength of a mother’s love for her kids are aspects on which the makers rely on to create an emotional bond with the viewers. Watch movie reviews imdb online.

There are enough twists & turns to keep you guessing. There were some twists, which no one can probably see coming. The script follows the usual crest & trough pattern. There are a few scenes which take the story further, followed by some horror scenes & again some scenes to take the story further. Thankfully, there are more crests than troughs. The horror quotient in this movie is very high. It did manage to scare us & the effects did manage to startle us. The movie is scarier than the latest movie from the Annabelle series. Producer James Wan is truly a genius. His collaboration with Leigh Whannell has always managed to impress us. Leigh Whannell acts, scripts & produces the movie as well. Music by Joseph Bishara does manage to accentuate the effect of the horror scenes. The acting by the cast is good. There are no flaws in the movie to speak of. Although we were a tad unhappy with the way the movie ended. The ending could have been scripted better. But, we strongly recommend this movie to all horror movie aficionados. Do watch it at a theatre near you!

Good: For the most part, the acting is decent with Lin Shaye’s calm and pleasant presence performing exceptionally well for 74 years old. The intro is engaging and suspenseful, but as the movie unfolds, it falls apart… Bad: Some of the worst writing I have seen from the convoluted story with confusing plot points to the unfunny humor. The movie tries to pull twists and turns, but most of them do not make sense logically and end up being confusing. For 103 minutes, the movie tends to drag due to a lack coherence and ineffective scares. Overall: Shaye cannot hold up the messy and sloppy writing. As a fan of the Insidious series, I felt this to be an outlier and desperately fail at being an adequate entry into the series.

In the tradition of Cool Hand Luke and Birdman Of Alcatraz comes Tim Robbins who was a banker on the outside, but when he caught his wife cheating on him with a golf pro from their country club, he’s convicted of putting eight bullets in them, four apiece and tried and sentenced to two consecutive life terms in Shawshank prison. Like Luke and Bob Stroud he works out his own rehabilitation and rebels against the prison system.

He may be a con, but Robbins still has all his knowledge of finances and pretty soon he’s made himself quite invaluable to the warden and the rest of the staff at the prison. At the same time he and the cell block scrounger Morgan Freeman develop a close personal relationship. In the end they beat the system in a most unique way.

There have been some classic prison films made ever since The Big House at the dawn of the talkies. Two I’ve already mentioned. My favorite prison film is Robert Redford’s Brubaker, but The Shawshank Redemption comes pretty close. As does The Green Mile which was also directed by Frank Darabont.

Darabont got an Oscar nomination as did the film itself and as did Morgan Freeman for Best Actor. The Shawshank Redemption was in for a flock more Oscar nominations in 1994. A couple other good performances are that of James Whitmore the institutionalized con who is there for 50 years and paroled and just can’t make it on the outside. He will break your heart as will Gil Bellows who plays a fresh, but rather likable young con who runs afoul of the warden. Watch November Criminals 2017 movie online.

Speaking of which Bob Gunton as the warden will positively chill you with his corruption. You would have to go back all the way to the James Cagney classic, The Mayor Of Hell where Dudley Digges was the warden of boys reformatory to find a warden that is as sanctimonious and as corrupt as Gunton. This is a man who gives Bibles out to each inmate hoping that the reading of the Good Book will improve the moral fiber of the convicts. At the same time he’s raking in money every which way he can and a rather special punishment is meted out to him by Robbins.

The Shawshank Redemption may not have monsters and other worldly creatures that normally characterize a Stephen King story. But the world of Shawshank prison is bizarre enough for any normal person if you see this wonderfully crafted and acted film.

Secret of the Hot CoCo movie Hot. Yes, the movie starts a bit slow and takes its time to build up momentum. It is rich in cultural reference to Mexico that may be a bit strange to embrace to non-Latin Americans. The music in the movie is soft and emotional, but not epic, glorious or Oscar-grabbing. The major plot points are predictable. Most of these are not really complaints, just factors of potential viewing (dis)pleasure.

Apart from these, the film blew me away. I had zero expectations walking in the theater with my kids, wasn’t sure whether it’s just another animated movie after first 30 minutes or so and definitely saw the result of Ernesto/Hector clash coming. It nevertheless grabbed my soul at that breaking point and never let go. It was only then that I truly started to care for our main characters and their family, but did so doubly.

Coco is, for most part, seemingly a completely irrelevant character, until she becomes a focal point of everything. Of entire (mostly dead) family line. She is the key to love and forgiveness of their (deceased) parents, to a final wish of a missing father and to both Miguel and his family members (dead and alive), who come to finally understand that respect for family is just as important as respect for dreams of its individual members. And it is not just Miguel who ultimately suffered from Imelda’s hate for Hector, it was also Coco. But her grief and own final wish were locked away in a catatonic body until Miguel came back from the dead to set that wish come true with a song, filled with love for family.

There were three times I’ve cried watching a movie in my life: – at the end of East of Eden when I was 7 – at the end of Color Purple when I was 15 – for the entire final third of Coco, now when I’m 40+. Handling the subject matter with care & respect, Unkrich is able to articulate the themes of life, death, family & culture in an accessible fashion. Every rendered image is finely detailed and its iconography takes heavy inspirations from Mexican streets & locales. 3D animation is flawless, as expected. Its vibrant set pieces & vivid colour palette evoke a sense of warmth & intimacy. Michael Giacchino’s score also retains the Mexican flavour plus its musical numbers are catchy, be it the soul-stirring Remember Me or the gleeful Un Poco Loco. Despite the skeletal appearance of most characters, they are all fully-fleshed in the script, and the writers have done a wonderful job in providing every relevant person an arc trajectory of their own. The film packs an all-Latino voice cast, thus adding more authenticity to its scripted caricatures, and all of them voice their roles with flair & finesse. The gags are plentiful and continue to surface throughout its runtime, which ultimately keeps its playful & amusing vibe alive even when the story is dealing with macabre elements.

On an overall scale, Coco is another impeccable fusion of first-rate storytelling & jaw-dropping animation from the acclaimed studio that’s awe-inspiring, riveting & endlessly entertaining. Crafted with passion, precision & perseverance, it is an exquisite ode to family & remembrance, and a heartfelt tribute to Mexican culture & folklore. In short, this ingeniously directed, sincerely scripted & beautifully textured masterpiece is another quality addition to Pixar’s oeuvre. Arguably the best film of the year, Coco is an endearing delight that comes one hundred percent recommended.
